Illinois POPS Record 2008
Safety Advisory

Safety is the number one priority at the Illinois POPS boogie. With this in mind, the following procedures will be in place:

No high performance (swoop) landings of ANY kind will be allowed on any POPS jump. This INCLUDES camera personnel, organizers, and DZ staff. No maneuvers (such as spirals, S-turns on final approach, deep brakes on final approach, or turns over 90 degrees in the pattern) will be allowed.

Breakoff procedures will be rehearsed and opening altitudes will be assigned to all participants. You must follow these procedures.

Track like your life depends on it.

After canopy opening DO NOT remove your booties or any part of your jumpsuits at all. Sliders may be collapsed and stowed AFTER you have cleared your airspace. Keep your head on a swivel at all times until back in the packing area.

We recommend a wing loading between 1.25 and 1.75 (min and max) so that all canopies will be flying at roughly the same speed. If your loading is outside this range then please exercise additional caution.

PLEASE LAND TO THE SOUTH OF THE MAIN HANGAR IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. Skydive Chicago has nearly 200 acres of grassy landing area and lots of good outs. Please avoid congestion.

A left hand pattern is standard at Skydive Chicago. If you must utilize a right hand pattern to get back to the drop zone, then be careful not to cross over the other traffic

We will designate mandatory landing directions on all dives.

All participants will be required to check in after landing.

In the event of an off-landing, please respect the local farmers' crops, and be nice to the local landowners.
